A block of rooms has been set aside at the University Guest Housing for single or double occupancy the rate is $69.00 per night plus tax. An additional block of rooms has also been set aside at the Heritage Commons single occupancy is $32.00 per night plus tax or double occupancy is $22.00 per night plus tax.

Call the University Guest Housing number listed above to reserve your room, when making your reservation be sure to specify which location you would like to stay at. Mention the Weinstein Conference to receive the group discounted rates.

The room blocks will be released on April 24, 2002.

The University Guest Housing and Heritage Commons are located on the University of Utah campus in the Chapel Glen area of the former Fort Douglas, and site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Village. Within walking distance of the University, the University Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Ground transportation options from the airport:

Express Shuttle: Call for advance reservations 1-800-397-0773. The University of Utah has a special rate of $12.00 one way. If you are traveling in a group the rate would be $12.00 for the first passenger and $6.00 for each additional. Indicate that you are traveling to the University of Utah and whether or not you will be traveling in a group. After you have checked in with the shuttle service at the airport you will depart within 20 minutes. Reservations for your return trip can also be made in advance for the same fare. Plan to depart for the airport 2-3 hours prior to your flight.

Taxis: Taxis are available at the airport for approximately $20 one way. Taxis depart from the taxis stands on the ground floor outside the baggage collection area at each terminal. Travel time from the airport to the University is approximately 20 minutes.

Directions from the Salt Lake City International Airport:

Follow AIRPORT EXIT.

Take the NORTH TEMPLE ramp.

Follow to WEST TEMPLE.

Turn RIGHT onto WEST TEMPLE.

Turn LEFT onto 400 SOUTH.

400 SOUTH becomes 500 SOUTH as you approach the University.

Turn LEFT onto WASATCH DR.

Turn RIGHT onto SOUTH CAMPUS DR (Hempstead Rd).

Take your SECOND LEFT onto FT DOUGLAS BLVD.

The Guest House is at the end of FT DOUGLAS BLVD.
