Huntsman Cancer Institute is dedicated to understanding, detecting and
treating cancer at a genetic level. This leads to therapies that are better
able to attack the root cause of the disease. Our research team is composed
of specially trained and highly experienced professors, physicians, graduate
assistants, and support staff who utilize the most advanced facilities and
technology available to perform cancer research at various levels. Progress
depends upon the efforts of clinical and laboratory scientists dedicated to new
understanding, detection and treatment methods. Future scientists, graduate
students and interns train to develop skills while participating in exciting,
leading edge research projects.
Research projects are under individual faculty sponsorship. We try to match individual
interest in a specific or general area of research with appropriate groups.
However, the program cannot guarantee that the student will work in a preferred
area of research. Faculty mentors and the program director make decisions on final
research placements.
