Application
The following materials must be submitted by midnight on March 1, 2009:
- Program Application (pdf
format)
- Official transcript of all college work
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty members or teaching assistants
- A personal/academic statement
Personal/academic statements should be typed and no more than two (2) pages in length. Statements
should explain why the student is interested in research, why he or she wants to participate in this
program, and what he or she hopes to gain from the experience in terms of achieving current and
future academic and career goals. In addition, students should indicate the research activities that
interested them and describe their qualifications for this type of research, including technical
skills. Finally, students should indicate why they want to pursue graduate or medical studies. Letters of reference can be either included in a
sealed envelope along with the other materials, or sent independently by the referee. The letter of reference has to be on a personal letterhead
either as a hardcopy or can be scanned in and e-mailed.
