There are currently 20 shared health sciences research facilities at the University of Utah. These resources are funded by a combination of Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) funding, HCI institutional funds, other University of Utah funding sources and charge-back for services. Karen Heichman oversees the HCI Shared Resources; Jerry Kaplan and Janet Lindsley oversee the other University Health Sciences cores (see www.cores.utah.edu). The Cores Oversight Committee, consisting of Jerry Kaplan, Frank Fitzpatrick, Tom McIntyre, Barbara Graves, Bob Fujinami, Jim Metherall, Wes Sundquist, Dennis Winge and Joseph Yost, meets regularly to address any issues or concerns.
