Chi-Bin Chien, PhD

Professor, Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy

Chi-Bin Chien, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Utah and a member of the Cell Response and Regulation Program.

Chien studies how the brain and nerves develop and how they connect to convey a signal. He uses zebrafish eye development as a model to evaluate important molecules and genes in this developmental process.

Chien received a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and a PhD from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena.
