Andrew "Pat" Soisson, MD, is a professor in the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and a Huntsman Cancer Institute
investigator. His clinical interests include gynecologic cancers, especially invasive cervical
cancer. He is also interested in developing a center for treatment of cervical cancer and preinvasive
cervical disease that uses a multidisciplinary approach to study the human papillomavirus and its
connection with cervical cancer.
Soisson is the primary investigator in the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a National Cancer
Institute-funded nonprofit organization that promotes excellence in quality and integrity of clinical
and basic scientific research. Before joining Huntsman Cancer Institute, he was division director of
gynecologic oncology at the West Virginia University Medical Center. Soisson received his medical
degree from Georgetown Medical School in Maryland and completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology
at Duke University Medical Center.
