The Genomics Core Facility of the University of Utah is a shared resource providing members of the research community with PCR-based DNA fragment analysis in a high-throughput fluorescent format.
We are located on the 4th floor of the School of Medicine, just off the A elevators in room 4A 438. Look for the signs that say Core Laboratories. Linda's office is 4A 430A.

The above digitized gel representation shows the potential of fluorescently- tagged markers. The first eight lanes with the blue color show eight individuals which have been amplified with six different Fam-tagged markers; the next 8 lanes have 6 Tet-tagged markers; then 6 Hex-tagged markers; and the last 8 lanes show the three colors multiplexed together for a total of 17 scorable markers per lane. The red bands are the GS500 size standard which is run in each lane for accurate size-calling. The actual data is viewed as electropherograms such as those below or in tablular form.
