Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Rosie Conder is a nurse practitioner in the Breast Cancer Program at Huntsman Cancer Institute. She has been a health-care provider since 1983. She earned
a master of science degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Utah in 2002 and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Before living in Utah, Conder worked a number of years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she had the opportunity to coordinate various clinical trials with Oncology Research at the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center. While at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, she worked with the oncology team to develop a hospice program serving the Philadelphia area.
Before joining the breast cancer team at HCI, Conder worked as a nurse practitioner in the community with Utah Cancer Specialists, where she gained extensive experience working with hematology/oncology patients. She also worked at St. MarkÕs Hospital in the same capacity and served on the Institutional Review Board there. She is experienced in symptom management as well as in supporting patients and families facing the emotional challenges associated with a diagnosis of cancer.
Although she has provided care for patients with all types of cancer, Conder is particularly interested in working with women, as she recognizes the unique challenges they sometimes face. She has a special interest in working with breast and gynecological cancers. She co-developed a support group for women with advanced cancer while working at Utah Cancer Specialists in conjunction with St. MarkÕs Hospital.
