Jerry Kaplan, PhD, assistant vice president for basic sciences for the Health Sciences Center, and Karen Heichman, PhD, director of cancer systems biology and resources at Huntsman Cancer Institute, share accountability for the shared resources and issues of resource allocation and development.

The Core Facilities Advisory Committee reports to Kaplan, who is responsible for oversight, budget, space, and administration of University institutional cores, including several cores that receive funds from the Cancer Center Support Grant. All Advisory Committee members are Cancer Center members, which ensures that the interests of the Cancer Center and its members are integrated with the interests of other faculty and programs.
