Projects:

I am interested in understanding the dynamics of DNA methylation during normal development and disease state specially cancer. We see different tissue-specific roles for DNA methyltransferases in zebrafish development and am currently trying to understand the mechanism for it. Also, we recently identified a novel mechanism of DNA demethylation and am investigating its role in early hypomethylation events in colon cancer.
