Collaborations

Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Breast Cancer Program offers comprehensive services for people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and other breast conditions, or those concerned about their risk of developing the disease based on strong family history. Our services include:

Diagnostic Imaging

Our diagnostic tests for breast cancer include state-of-the-art equipment such as digital mammography and MRI and radiologists who specialize in these areas.

Wellness Center

This program offers a physical assessment, individual exercise program design, monitoring, and nutrition counseling as patients recover from cancer treatment. Patients are then referred to organizations and facilities in the community for further rehabilitation.

High Risk Counseling

Huntsman Cancer Institute's High Risk Breast Cancer Clinic provides education and genetic counseling to individuals and families at increased risk of developing breast cancer. It also serves as a resource for breast cancer studies.

Medical Oncology

Our physicians and other health providers specialize in the treatment and care of cancer patients.

Pain and Palliative Care

These services address patients' physical, emotional, and interpersonal needs from the time of cancer diagnosis. Medical treatments and complementary therapies are used to enhance quality of life for patients and families while respecting personal values and preferences.

Radiation Oncology

Doctors and other specialists provide radiation oncology treatment using high-energy X-rays to target cancerous tumors. Some patients receive radiation oncology treatment at Huntsman Cancer Institute while continuing cancer care at other locations.

Reconstructive Surgery

Patients who undergo mastectomy may opt for breast reconstruction immediately after surgery or at a later date under the care of a highly qualified plastic surgeon.

Supportive Care

Social workers offer individual, family, or group counseling, including counseling for parents to help them talk with their children about cancer and identify ways to help their children cope effectively with the diagnosis of a family member.

Surgical Oncology

Your surgeon will work with you and members of your care team to develop and implement an individualized treatment plan using the latest techniques and equipment to provide the best possible outcome.

The HOPE Guide

The Huntsman Online Patient Education (HOPE) Guide lets anyone with Internet access find easy-to-understand answers to questions about all types of cancer, treatment, research, and prevention. The HOPE Guide contains information from more than 3,000 sources, including books, brochures, FAQs, and medical journal articles. Health education specialists check all information for accuracy and timeliness.
