October

Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in American women. The American Cancer Society estimates that 178,480 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. Breast cancer can also occur in men – an estimated 2,030 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. October has been designated Breast Cancer Awareness Month to encourage early detection and awareness of breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines have been developed to detect breast cancers at the earliest, most treatable stage. Below are multiple resources to learn more about the screening and early detection methods of breast cancer. For those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, we have provided treatment and coping information.
